Columbia High School's boys basketball team delivered a commanding performance against Irvington High School on Saturday, January 10, 2026, securing a 65-53 victory.
The Cougars established dominance early, racing to a 24-6 lead by the end of the first quarter.
Junior guard Matthew Synsmir led the charge with 17 points, complemented by three rebounds and two assists.
Senior guard Jayvon Rogers contributed a double-double, amassing 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Junior guard Zach Alexander added 13 points, while junior guard Nate Kirby recorded a triple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.
Junior guard Liam Ayers facilitated the offense with five assists and chipped in a three-pointer.
Following this win, Columbia improved their season record to 6-3.
They are set to face Newark Central High School on January 15, 2026, at 7 p.m.
